Universal Animal Pump
Animal has always talked big game. We've seen the advertisements and we know the name. Herein we'll investigate Animal Pump and see if it meets the hype.
"A Fusion Of A CEE, Nitric Oxide, Energy And Antioxidants For Growth!
A Pre-Workout Creatine Matrix - Built on the proven foundation of creatine, Animal Pump is no passing fancy."
Animal Pump includes 3 grams of creatine in 3 different forms (Magnesium Creatine Chelate™ (MCC), Tricreatine Malate (TCM), Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE)). For those of you that don't know, creatine is almost as staple a supplement as whey protein and a multivitamin. Personally, I find that creatine is most effective when cycled (e.g. 2 months on 1 or 2 months off).
"It's a no bull, high octane performance supplement designed to help you blast through plateaus and preconceived limitations."
Supplement claims always hurt themselves when they begin to reach too far, in my opinion. However, that being said, in the eyes of the naïve, big claims often translate into big bucks.
"In addition to a full daily dose of creatine in the form of an advanced matrix (including patented MCC, CEE and TCM),"
In regards to creatine, some studies suggest that 3 grams for a daily maintenance dose is suitable. However, other studies suggest that 5 grams is the necessary daily dose during a maintenance faze. Therefore, Animal Pump's claim isn't exactly lying. That being said, they're being a bit misleading in this part of the claim.
"you also get (1) a fusion of a swelling NO Blast Complex;"
I didn't experience an abnormally large pump. My pump appeared to be within the usual for me.
"(2) a shocking Energy Rush Complex;"
This is the area where Animal Pump really excels. I experienced a great workout with Animal Pump. My energy levels were noticeably increased. I was able to push out more reps and take slightly shorter rest periods.
"(3) an immune-support antioxidant blend;"
Always great to support the immune system. If that gives out, your recovery will suck and you can kiss that sweet muscle goodbye, and probably welcome a cold!
"and (4) potent cell volumizers, all wrapped up in a special nutrient transport complex. From top to bottom, Animal Pump is complete and comprehensive."
They may be referring to the taurine, creatine or perhaps some other ingredients (gingerroot?).
Animal Pump's claim was fairly honest. However, it was a bit misleading in parts. Therefore, for the claim, I award Animal Pump a 7.5/10.
Animal Pump was an effective pre-workout supplement. Unfortunately, as can be expected of most supplements, it didn't fully meet the claim. Animal Pump didn't grant me a noticeably larger pump (however, this seems to be my reaction to most Nitric Oxide supplements). On the plus side, as noted above, I experienced increased energy levels. As a result, I was able to noticeably increase my workout performance, which made for a great back workout. I'm always happy to see immune system support and cell volumizers (creatine, taurine, etc.) that make me appear larger. Therefore, in regards to effectiveness, I award Animal Pump an 8/10.
I found that Animal Pump's claim was a bit misleading but truthful in most parts. Also, I was pleased with the effectiveness of Animal Pump. Unfortunately, there were several pills to swallow, which was a downside for me. Therefore, for an overall review, I award Animal Pump a 7.5/10.
