The add for Syntrax Nitrous begins by asking; "Tired of swallowing handfuls of horsepills containing citrulline and arginine based Nitric Oxide products?" As a matter of fact, I'm a bit tired of swallowing handfuls of horse pills. Although swallowing pills doesn't particularly bother me, the repetitiveness of it each day can become quite annoying. Therefore, a powder form, which I can mix in with my shake undetected is a nice alternative.
Syntrax Nitrous claims that "With its neutral taste, Nitrous is sold as a powder and can be easily and unnoticeably mixed with your favorite beverage." However, I must disagree. I found that Syntrax Nitrous, although small in amount, created an undesirable taste within my shake, regardless of what I mixed it with. I used the following mixing methods:
- Syntrax Nitrous, orange juice and protein powder (vanilla).
- Syntrax Nitrous, orange juice and strawberries.
- Syntrax Nitrous, milk, banana, crunchy peanut butter and protein powder (chocolate).
- Syntrax Nitrous and milk.
- Syntrax Nitrous and soy milk.
In all cases, I found that Syntrax Nitrous created a uniquely bitter taste that I can't quite put my finger on. Regardless, it was an undesirable taste. Therefore, for taste, I award Syntrax Nitrous a 2/10. Although taste isn't the main concern, it can become a very unpleasant task when done on a regular basis, especially for an extended period of time (weeks or months).
As we all know, a poor mixing ingredient is very difficult to work with. Also, an undesirable texture is enough to make some of us gag (e.g. cottage cheese anyone)! Seriously though, these are important factors in determining the quality of a supplement. In regards to Syntrax Nitrous, I found the mixability to be not great but enough to pass as satisfactory. Also, I found that Syntrax Nitrous did not affect the texture of the shake, probably because it was such a minute amount.
Most importantly with a Nitric Oxide Product is the effectiveness of it. Syntrax Nitrous claims that it's "a custom-engineered product that overcomes the downfalls of every other Nitric Oxide product on the market. Because it contains (Di-L-Arginine)-L-Malate Nitrous is by far the most effective supplement of it's kind. Not only is it perfectly bioavailable with it's Ionis delivery system, but the combination of arginine and malic acid (malate) contains a one-two punch that gives it's user unbeatable insulin secretion, muscle pumps, vascularity, and energy production and recovery!" I wouldn't say that Syntrax Nitrous overcame the downfalls of every other nitric oxide product on the market. However, it's an intelligent marketing tool to claim that it does. In favour of Syntrax Nitrous, I found that it did grant me an increase in muscle pump. The increase in muscle pump wasn't anything earth shattering. However, it was noticeable. I didn't experience a noticeable increase in vascularity. I experienced a slight increase in energy production and I noticed an increase in recovery time. Therefore, the effectiveness of Syntrax Nitrous wasn't far off the claim (in comparison to most other supplements on the market). Therefore, for effectiveness which is the most important factor. I award Syntrax Nitrous a 7.5/10.
The taste of Syntrax Nitrous was not appreciated by me and I doubt most others would consider it pleasant. Syntrax Nitrous mixed satisfactorily and had little to no effect on the texture of my shakes. Most importantly, Syntrax Nitrous was significantly effective. Not earth shattering but definitely noticeable. Therefore, for an overall review, I award Syntrax Nitrous a 5/10.
