ABOUT THE
DIET
SlimFast is a diet which uses meal replacement shakes in place of
regular food. One shake is taken for breakfast, another for lunch,
with a regular, whole food dinner. One SlimFast shake contains 240
calories. The shakes have a healthy caloric breakdown and include
vitamins and minerals to make up for the whole foods they are
replacing. With one regular meal per day, the SlimFast diet will
total a little over 1,000 calories.

Although no exercise is specified, daily aerobic and cardio
training is always beneficial. However, due to the low calorie
nature of this diet, it may not be easy to exercise.
ADVANTAGES
OF THE DIET
The SlimFast diet is very simple and convenient if your goal is to
lose weight fast. You do get to eat one normal meal to help keep
you happy throughout the diet.
DISADVANTAGES OF THE
DIET
Back To Top As with every
other meal replacement shake out there, SlimFast shakes are fairly
expensive. Aside from this, the SlimFast diet does not allow people
to learn successful eating habits (for a diet which does teach good
nutrition habits, see Weight
Watchers Diet
CONCLUSION
The SlimFast diet is an incredibly easy diet to follow, and
although it is restrictive, it is fairly balanced in its
micronutrient breakdown. It does not specifically restrict one any
given nutrient, or any vitamins &
minerals. However, overall caloric intake is more restrictive
than it should be. So, this diet offers both good and bad, and
although there are many diets out there which are superior, the
SlimFast diet is not necessarily one to be overlooked.
