Six Star Muscle Mass Gainer - Chocolate Ice Cream Milkshake - Review
My name is Steven Sidorski and the supplement I am reviewing today is Mass Gainer by Six Star Muscle and the flavour is Chocolate Ice Cream Milkshake.
The flavour is awesome and I would say its just a bit better tasting than Six Star Muscle’s Whey Protein. Of course I would compare it to any other products such as Nitric Oxide and Creatine as it would be like comparing apples to oranges. Also, I’m not familiar with either product as I have never tried either product.
If you are stuck between getting Whey Protein and Mass Gainer, get the latter because it is a lot cheaper per pound. But know that two pounds of Whey Protein has over twice the protein as two pounds of Mass Gainer.
If you are male or female we need to calculate your Body Mass Index to determine how much you need this product. Take your body weight in kilograms and divide it by your height in meters squared. So if you are 1.75 meters and weigh 90kg take 90 and divide it by 3.0625 which gets you 29.39 meaning you are almost obese. Some gyms offer to calculate your BMI for you but they charge you about $20 for the service.
Basically if your BMI is less than 22 it is low, between 22 and 30 is moderate and over 30 is considered obese and thus you should probably taking a totally different supplement although to my knowledge I am not sure what that is. This is a pretty good guide to measure your need for this product although the BMI is nowhere near perfect and that skinfold measurements would be a more accurate fat measurement. For example, NFL running backs have a BMI of over 40 and obviously they are not obese; they are all muscle!
For those who want to gain weight in specific areas, make sure that you engage in resistance training on those body parts you wish to make weight gains for; in addition to taking a weight gainer such as this. Such advice may seem obvious but the hidden message is to workout those areas more often than you normally would. Also, be sure to do each set between eight and ten repetitions before muscle failure. If you are able to do twelve that means you need to slightly increase the weight. I have this friend who has super massive arms but he took one weight gainer after another and did not work his triceps, biceps and shoulders less than once a week each.
My overall rating on this weight gainer is an 8 out of ten as it has the amino acids that other weight gainers have. I believe the quality of Six Star Muscle to be higher than your average weight gainer. One reason the rating was not perfect is because Six Star Muscle does not currently offer a banana flavour or anything close to it so I am hoping that they do soon.
