Description
Purpose
(1) To develop the
trapezius muscles.
Execution
(1) Stand up straight,
holding a barbell at arm's length in front of you, using an
overhand grip. (2) Lift the barbell up, holding at the top, and
lowering the barbell back down to the starting position. (3) Repeat
movement for desired number of reps.
Tips
(1) Envision trying to
push your shoulders into your ears at the top.
Note: This movement
can be performed with the barbell positioned to the front as
described above, and also with the barbell positioned behind you.
The movement can also be performed using a Smith
machine.
