Introduction to Green Tea Energy Drinks
Energy products are products intended to give a boost in the gym or anywhere else you may find yourself needing one. Picture an energy drink as delivering the same result as caffeine for example, so the many people who drink coffee to wake up would be able to get the same result off a number of energy products available.
Green tea (Camellia sinensi, Epigallocatechin Gallate [EGCG]) originated in China, and it is said to have been used for over four thousand years. One benefit of green tea is that it contains many antioxidants. The body can use green tea and its elements for many beneficial reasons within the body including to increase intestinal flora and antioxidant levels. Thanks to its ability to promote fat loss, many weight loss enthusiasts use it in this way.
S.A.N. Tight! has a proprietary blend of over eight ingredients that are used to help in fat loss. I noticed that Guggulsterones are present in Tight! which I am not compelled to believe offer much in the way of help to fat loss on the basis of what I have read of them so far. Although I still intend to review more literature to confirm or rule out that impression. Tight! makes a claim I find a little odd which relates to the spot reducing myth:
"Yohimbine mobilizes body fat from the hard to lose areas such as thighs, glutes and abdominals."
I've never heard of an exercise, and for that matter not a supplement either, which results in fat loss in one specific area of the body and not others.
Tight! RTD claims the following properties:
- Naturally increase thyroid production to speed up your metabolism.
- Burn body fat faster and more efficiently as the preferred source of energy.
- Support alertness and brain function and counteract withdrawals associated with stopping ephedrine after long-term use.
- Suppress appetite to manage caloric intake.
- Prolong activity of neurotransmitters, such as Epinephrine & Norepinephrine.
This is a complex array of claims, and if all of these are indeed true over the course of using Tight! I would have to say that this is a very worthwhile product to try. I can't verify these claims, but I found the point above about using Tight! to assist in ephedrine withdrawals to be a particularly interesting and beneficial one if it is indeed true.
I have found that various supplements have a taste which is distinct to the grouping of supplements they fall into. Most notably would be nitric oxide supplements in my opinion, which have a distinct taste which I happen to detest. A good tasting nitric oxide supplement is one which masks that very distinct NO taste as best as possible (and some have done so). Likewise, protein bars often have a distinct taste due to the fact that they are so dense with protein that it is hard to avoid the taste of that in the product. Energy products are no exception, and generally do have a noticeably distinct taste. I found that the Tight! beverage had somewhat of a berry taste, and left a slight aftertaste in the roof of my mouth which immediately set off an alarm to me that it was a health product. Health products often do have tastes or aftertastes which can just be recognized as being a healthful item, at least to me. I found it interesting that the smell of Tight! was not the same as the taste, and it smelled somewhat like almond scented industrial soap of the variety that you would find in public restrooms or hotels. That smell did not quite match up to me to the taste, which I found to be an interesting tidbit of information about this product.
The directions for S.A.N. Tight! state:
Directions: "Shake well before opening. Drink one can prior to workout. Due to potent nature of the formula use no more than 1 can in any 24 hours period. Not to be used by individuals under the age of 18 years."
I took my S.A.N Tight! beverage at around 10PM to see if it would keep me from getting sleepy as early as I usually do. As it is, I would have to say that it did do what it was supposed to do by giving me a boost of energy, but I found myself getting tired at about 3AM which is the time I would normally be starting to get tired and go to bed. Perhaps the best way to describe Tight! was that it did work to promote energy, but for a short burst, rather than rationed out for a sustained period of time. There were times between 10PM-3AM where I could definitely tell that an energy product was at work, but it did not keep me up all night as I thought may be a possibility. So to summarize, Tight! seemed to give me a short burst of energy as I mentioned above, so those seeking such an effect should drink the Tight! beverage about 30 minutes before their workout and should notice the effects I described above.
I have tried a few energy products at this point, so I have some basis of judgment/comparison when it comes to the effectiveness and overall quality of the S.A.N. Tight! RTD product. So far, my two favourite energy products would be Biotest Spike Shooter and Labrada Charge! SuperShot. I would relegate Tight! by S.A.N. as an average product in the array of energy drinks in that it did what it was supposed to do, but not to the same degree of effectiveness as the two products above. I would be willing to try to again since it did work and it is always nice to have a little more data to form an opinion of a product, but I still maintain that my two favourite energy drinks are the ones above. Still, worth a try though, especially with the current offer as you can see below of 12 Cans - Buy One, Get One Free! for only $24.99.
