Description:
Precision Protein 2lbs from EAS.
Precision Protein marks the beginning of a new era in whey-protein formulation and supplementation. For
years, whey has been revered as the quality protein source for fitness enthusiasts and athletes. Boasting
possibly the highest biological value of any naturally occurring protein, its reputation and popularity are well
deserved. However, recent scientific evidence suggests the benefits of whey protein for athletes may go well
beyond its ability to supply quality amino acids to hungry muscles.
Protein scientists have discovered that whey, in its natural state, contains a variety of bioactive compounds
generally referred to as "protein microfractions." These powerful compounds may offer numerous positive
biological effects to hard-training athletes.
EAS utilizes the most up-to-date technology to isolate and stabilize these fragile microfraction proteins. In the past, most
of the methods of whey processing and isolation used extreme temperatures and acidic conditions, thus destroying these
valuable microfractions. Only recently have new extraction techniques been developed and employed which may make it
possible to isolate and stabilize protein microfractions in a finished whey-protein powder. The two most advanced
techniques, known as ion exchange and ultrafiltration, are used in combination to create Precision Protein-quite possibly
the highest quality, microfraction-rich whey protein available today.
In addition to Precision Protein's extraordinary microfraction profile, it is formulated with key amino acids, including:
glutamine (in peptide form), taurine, and glycine, which may support cell volumizing and protein metabolism. The
conditionally essential amino acid arginine has also been added to this formula to help support growth-factor production.
And, the amino acid phenylalanine is included to reinforce the overall amino acid profile of the Precision Protein formula and
boost its biological value.
Make no mistake, Precision Protein is not just another whey-protein supplement-it's a precise formula, designed
specifically to support the nutritional needs of individuals who engage in regular, intense exercise.
Q: What is the protein source for EAS' Precision Protein?
A: The number one ingredient in Precision Protein is whey protein isolate, the lowest fat, lowest cholesterol, lowest
sodium, and lowest carbohydrate whey protein available. This particular isolate is developed through a proprietary process
that combines ion-exchange and cold microfiltration processes, as well as nanofiltration (extremely fine particle filtering).
By combining these techniques, it's possible to remove virtually all of the lactose and fat, yet maintain the protein
microfractions such as lactoferrin, immunoglobulins, and bovine serum albumin, which make whey such a valuable protein
to athletes.
Q: Protein powders have been around the fitness industry forever. What's so special about EAS' Precision
Protein?
A: Protein powders have been a staple in the fitness industry for many years, and that's why EAS researchers have
invested so much thought and care in the development of Precision Protein. We wanted to make sure it is different from
others. See the article "Which Whey?" by Will Brink in the February 1998 issue of Muscle Media for a complete discussion
on why Precision Protein is so special. Here are a few highlights of this incredible product:
Precision Protein does not contain hydrolyzed protein. Many of today's whey protein products contain hydrolyzed
or "predigested" whey protein, which is typically exposed to high levels of heat during the manufacturing process.
This extreme heat destroys the very beneficial microfractions that were originally present in the whey protein.
Precision Protein includes Aminogen. Aminogen is a protein "digesting enzyme" complex that enhances protein
absorption and bioavailability by making more branched-chain amino acids available for muscle growth.
Precision Protein has high amounts of protein microfractions. Microfractions such as immunoglobulins and
glycomacropeptides, just to name a few, have very beneficial effects on the human body. For example, these
microfractions have favorable effects on the immune system, on regulating protein digestion in the stomach, and
assisting in growth of new body tissue. The important thing to remember is that these microfractions are all very
heat sensitive and easily destroyed during processing. When manufacturing Precision Protein, EAS uses extreme
care in ensuring that these microfractions are present in our product.
Q: I've heard whey protein is low in some important amino acids. What has EAS done about that problem in the
design of Precision Protein?
A: You're right; there are some amino acids that are typically low in whey protein. Those are glutamine, arginine, and
phenylalanine and are actually the "limiting factors" in whey protein. We've supplemented or added more of these three
amino acids to EAS' whey protein isolate, thereby creating a more complete product for muscle-building purposes. By the
way, the peptide form of glutamine is what we use and is superior to the free form. It's considered to be more stable and
better absorbed in the body.
