PowerBar Triple Threat Layered Bar Review By Matt Canning
In the spirit of reviewing as many supplements as possible, I have decided to review this product for the second time as it had been quite some time since I had reviewed it before and I felt that I had enough time away from using it last time to review it like new. I want BodybuildingPro.com to become the largest resource available on the internet for supplement reviews and I felt an additional review on this product was appropriate.
The PowerBar Triple Threat Layered Bar contained 230 calories per bar which to me is a good number of calories for a protein bar. In fact, anywhere between 200-300 is a great amount I think so this bar was just right being within that range. Each bar contains 9 grams of far, 31 grams of carbs and 10 grams of protein. Perhaps this bar is slightly high in terms of overall carbohydrate content but that is really not such a bad thing and results in an exceptionally good taste which is outlined below. Normally carbohydrate and fat content is somewhat of a trade off in the sense that the more of each there are, the better the taste of the bar. I think this bar is a little light on the protein and perhaps 15 grams of protein would be possible without compromising on taste too much. Again, I should point out that there are more healthful bars out there are ones with higher protein content but I should also again point out that the taste is better for this bar as a result of its nutritional attributes.
This bar was somewhat intermediate in terms of taste in the sense that there are numerous bars on the market which taste more healthful but also numerous bars on the market which taste more like candy bars or junk food. This was in the middle somewhere, perhaps leaning towards being more of a candy bar flavour rather than some of the more healthful bars on the market [for example, some of the bars which are highest in protein taste the strongest. The texture was slightly crunchy and very chewy and was enjoyable overall.
Overall, I felt that this was a very good protein bar and one which was a little more like a candy bar in terms of taste. The taste was very good and in order to create such a good taste the bar is slightly high in carbohydrates and low in protein in relation to other bars on the market so if you are interested in a bar with high levels of protein, check out some of the other supplement reviews and you will find some reviews of protein bars which are different than this one and might be suitable for your bodybuilding or health needs. A box of 15 PowerBar Triple Threat Layered Bar is $18.99 which is a pretty good price, although there are some cheaper bars on the market this price is still pretty good.
