Waking up that faithful first morning of 2005, My mind was fuelled up with bodybuilding dreams. It was the beginning, a fresh start to a better life. Nothing could stop me, not even my good ol' laziness.

Going downstairs to my homemade basement gym, I couldn't wait to start that recumbent bike ride. Comfortably sit on that fine piece of equipment, I proudly pedaled my way to humble beginnings.

The effort wasn't the most ruthless, but I was still exhausted. My heart was pounding hard, I felt finally alive. Trying to catch my breath, I glared at the mirror. Smiling to the guy who chose to make the first step.

Resistance tubing and light warm-up were the next steps. For a beginner, they set my muscles on fire in no time. I was giving my 22 year old body that long awaited exercise. The pump felt so good that I was coming back for more.

Tightening my lifting gloves, I was ready to lift some weights. Trying to keep good form, the first set was one to remember. My dumbbells weren't that heavy, but failure came quickly. The workout wasn't long, but the accomplishment was still there.

Reaching that water bottle, I was pleased with my few sets. Putting back the weights under the bench, I felt confident. I'm no Jay Cutler, but I sure am a cut above from last year. Tomorrow will be hell to pay, but it still will be shoulders' day.

I'm telling you, Bodybuilding sure ain't a one day thing. t's a long journey that can be both frustrating and rewarding. But 2005 is just the beginning and the enthusiasm isn't fading. It was only the first day, but I felt like Mr. Olympia.
