Muscle Tech Nitro Tech - Review by Michael S.
Going to the gym whenever you have to can be a challenge and can even be spontaneous in some circumstances getting your protein shake at the right time can be a hard thing to do. After going to the gym at 1:30 for an intense back workout that left me drained and tired. I was even too tired to make my protein shake the perfect solution popped into my head that would save the day. I packed a Muscle Tech Nitro Tech protein drink in my bag before going to the gym that had a whopping 45 grams of protein and only 4 grams of carbohydrate and 1 gram of fat. The drink contained more than just the average protein drink ingredients.
As I am not a calorie counter I do like to have a general idea of how much good I ate throughout the day to make sure I am not eating too little or in some rare cases when I eat too much. Nitro Tech only contains 220 calories for a 444ml serving (1 can) along with vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, biotin, pantothenic acid, calcium, iron, iodine, zinc, manganese, chromium, molybdenum and sodium. Containing more vitamins than most multivitamins and protein bars Muscle Techs protein beverage is an ideal replacement to any homemade protein shake.
The quality of the product is not the only thing under review, I've been drinking the strawberry flavoured ones post workout and as usual when it comes to Muscle Tech products their ability to deliver great flavour has not failed in this case. The sweet strawberry flavour was a great energy boost after a workout and strict diet. Unfortunately the artificial flavour label on the can is a big deterrent for a lot of people who there who believe in a more natural approach but in most cases with supplements it's impossible to avoid. Texture wise though it was fairly smooth but the warmer it was when served the worst it would taste.
Back to the product itself though, it contains a trademarked blench called "RTS" which contains an amino acid profile, ginseng, and D-myo-inositol. D-myo-inositol is a chemical which increases intracellular calcium levels by two distinct mechanisms: opening calcium channels on both the endoplasmic reticulum to release calcium from internal stores and on the plasma membrane to allow the influx of calcium from outside the cell. A very new supplement I have never seen in any other product thus far but seems promising.
Overall the product was delicious, effective and enjoyable. I had the satisfying feeling of being full and Nitro-Tech was able to hold me over before going home and cooking up a post workout meal. I give this product a 9/10 for meeting all my expectations and standards I hold for a supplement and containing all the expected ingredients with a low calorie intake and high protein serving. One of the negative qualities that keep it from being a 10/10 is the protein concentrate instead of a high amount of protein isolate which does not make it the best post workout beverage.
