The product of this review is called High Protein Plus Pancake Mix manufactured by MET-Rx.
First off, this product is a hot and delicious high-protein breakfast alternative. For those who follow an athletic or fitness lifestyle, you know that the choices available for breakfast can be limited. Just how many times can you eat egg whites and oatmeal? That is why MET-Rx has brought back their high protein, low fat pancake mix.
The claim by the manufacturer is that METRx Protein Plus High Protein Pancakes are so sweet, light and fluffy, there is no need to add butter or syrup. Just add water, stir and pour onto the griddle. With more than twice as much protein compared to traditional pancakes, breakfast has never tasted so good and healthy for you! My view of this claim is it is true on an overall level.
The Lingo: When you're craving a hot, flavourful alternative for breakfast, or even lunch or dinner, MET-Rx Protein Plus High Protein Pancakes are a great solution. Two scoops make about three pancakes delivering 12 grams protein and only 190 calories. With as much protein as a three egg-white omelette, MET-RX Protein Plus High Protein Pancakes make bodybuilding breakfasts delicious once again.
My advice is to be gradual with the syrup and add bits more until you taste them as scrumptious.
However, for me the after-taste is quite bad so I would recommend adding fruits to them such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and even pieces of apples and bananas. Now that I am used to the taste, I cannot wait until further mornings where I can turn this mix of batter into tasty pancakes that are not too sweet like Finnish pancakes tend to be. Another benefit to these is that there is no refined white flour used in making them; therefore they are a good nutritional choice.
Now, my next goal is to start convincing family members to enjoy them along with good health.
This product is quite good for those trying to find new ways to increase protein intake without sacrificing enjoyment of its buttery flavour and in addition for the serious bodybuilder, it is nice to finally chew something rather than using the blender for every meal...
