Labrada Super Charge Packets Review by Matt Canning
The 'Super Charge' packets are yet another supplement which I got for review during my trip to the 2007 Mr. Olympia weekend in Las Vegas. I had previously reviewed 'Labrada Charge! SuperShot' and found it to be without question one of the best synephrine/caffeine energy products I had ever tried. I was basically instantly awaken when I tried it and after having such a good experience with it, I was eager to try out other products by Labrada Nutrition. After reviewing the ingredients of the Labrada Super Charge packets, I noticed the blend was similar to other NO products on the market and with that I had expectations of the type of results which I could expect. Generally speaking, I have always enjoyed taking NO products and off the top of my head, I can't recall a single one which did not deliver results ranging from good to excellent. Some are better than others no doubt, but most all of them do the job they say they will. I also had an expectation of the taste of the super charge product which was not a good one - since just about every NO product which I have ever tasted has been horrible tasting, I expected the same thing here.
Taste:
I said before in my review of S.A.N. Fierce that basically every nitric oxide product that exists is terrible in terms of taste, but I was quite relieved and VERY surprised to find that the Labrada super charge packets were an exception! I don't know if I can say that they tasted GOOD, but I am so used to foul tasting NO products that when I actually drink one which tastes somewhat decent, it is very surprising to me. Compared to other beverages, I can't even say for certain that super charges is 'good', but it is leaps and bounds, head and shoulders, way above any other NO product that I've tried with the exception of 'NO XPLODE' by BSN which is also another good tasting one. I would compare it to a generic fruit drink, although not particularly sweet. Flavourful, but not overwhelming, with no bad aftertaste. For an NO product, it tasted outstanding.
Mixability/Texture:
I mixed half a pack of the super charge mix in water in a cup and found it to mix quite well barring a few small clumps here and there which would more than likely have been dispersed throughout the mix had I stirred a little more. It did not taste very grainy and overall, the super charge mix is a winner in this area also.
Digestibility:
I had no problems digesting the super charge drink mix. It passes yet another test in this review.
Effectiveness:
I used this product right before training shoulders and I had a great workout! I trained my shoulders in a very basic way, starting out with seated dumbbell presses, followed by seated machine presses, rear lateral raises on the butterfly machine, and finishing up with a combination of side lateral raises with dumbbells combined with standing overhead dumbbell presses taken to failure. I got the best shoulders pump I got in a while and although my diet has been steadily improving recently which no doubt contributed, I can say for certain that the super charge product did work in giving me a fantastic pump! I look forward to using it again.
Overall Review:
Overall, this was one of the best nitric oxide products that I have used, up there with 'NO XPLODE' by BSN, and 'NANO X9' by MuscleTech. Given that it tasted good and was effective, I have to say it is my favourite NO product along with the two listed above. I will more than likely use this product for a month and review it once again in more detail and see if it is as good over the long term as it is over the short term.
