EVAN CENTOPANI AT THE 2009 NEW YORK PRO
Below are photos of Evan Centopani from the 2009 New York Pro where he won the open class. Kevin English won the 202-class that year. Evan was only 27 years old at the time of this contest which made it all the more impressive. Evan sat out the Mr. Olympia contest that year and has not competed in the Mr. Olympia yet but I feel Evan should this year because he is definitely at a level necessary to be competitive at the contest.
Some have said that Evan's chest looks shallow from the side and in the photos above that characteristic can be seen somewhat. Check out the forum for updates on Evan and you will see that he is at least as big as he was in these photos and harder than ever. I also think that he has improved his tan and colour and looks better on all fronts. He definitely has the mass to be competitive at the Mr. Olympia and most likely wanted to wait so that his first performance was a good one. Phil Heath had the opportunity to compete in 2007 and 2008 but opted not to in order to continue to improve and when he competed in it for the first time in 2008, he placed 3rd which was a very good start for him in the most competitive bodybuilding contest in the world.
