REVIEW OF EAS 100% WHEY PROTEIN

EAS 100% Whey Protein
EAS 100% Whey Protein is one of many protein powder supplements which I have tried lately. I have tried so many protein powders at this point, that I have a very good basis for judgment and can write these reviews with what I consider to be a great deal of accuracy and understanding. I will go into a little more detail about the EAS 100% Whey Protein powder including some of the label claims and my opinions on each as well as my thoughts on other aspects of the product.
"23 Grams Of BCAA Rich Protein With Only 2 Grams Of Carbohydrates!"
I have recently starting taking BCAAs for the first time in my life, and I am currently using Higher Power BCAA 1000. I am on a quite extensive Higher Power stack right now, so it may be a little difficult to judge exactly how well the BCAAs are working individually since they are in combination with the other supplements I am using at the moment, but I can definitely say that I am experiencing a net positive benefit in my workouts and even in my overall mood and well being, so it's difficult to draw absolute conclusions, but I do think that the BCAAs are contributing to this change in mood. I am constantly trying to be attentive to figure out exactly how much the BCAAs result in a change in mood. As the name suggests, BCAA 1000 contains 1000mg of BCAAs. For comparison's sake, I do not even see a list of BCAAs at all in the product ingredient listing on the product information page, therefore I really do not understand why EAS is making this claim, although I suppose it's possible that the BCAAs are present, but in very small quantities and are therefore not worthy of mention on the page.
"When it comes to picking the perfect protein to support optimal muscle growth and peak performance, you don't need a bunch of marketing hype and empty promises. Whey you need is a great-tasting, pure protein product of the very highest quality from a company you can trust."
When I look for a supplement, I look for one which has the nutritional content that I want and is not filled with anything flashy in terms of marketing or advertising which may increase the price to high levels. Remember that the end user purchase price for any given supplement must reflect both the cost of production and other associated costs such as advertising. This is why MuscleTech items tend to cost so much. They are very good, but also very expensive. EAS is a trusted company, but they are pretty marketed too, so I would guess their items are more expensive on average also. $23.89 for two pounds of protein and $49.99 for five pounds of protein is pretty reasonable, although cheaper protein supplements do exist also, so for those wishing to stretch their budget, they should consult the links below which offer the cheapest available protein supplements in order from cheapest to most expensive.

Now I will discuss further attributes of the bar below:
The EAS 100% Whey Protein come in the flavours below:
I should point out that the banana flavour is only available in the five pound tubs. The flavour I tried was the vanilla.
Overall, I liked the taste, although I have to say that as a general rule I prefer chocolate over any other flavour as far as protein powders and weight gain powders are concerned. I picked up a lot of different flavours of gainer powders in particular and in a way I wish I didn't because I don't care for flavours like strawberry or banana. The reason for this is because it is a lot harder for labs to replicate those flavours. On the other hand, flavours like vanilla and chocolate are pretty simple, and between the two of them, chocolate is my favourite. In the spirit of reviewing as many different supplements as possible, I picked up a variety of flavours, but in the future I will likely stick just to chocolate and I apologize to those who wish for a greater variety in the reviews. Others on this site will likely be reviewing other flavours should you wish to do a little searching.
I liked the vanilla flavour. It was good as far as vanilla flavours are concerned, although I would have preferred to have chocolate and if I sample this product again, I will be ordering the chocolate flavour.
I drank my shakes either with milk and protein mixed in a cup together or blended in a blender. In both instances, it mixed well and I consider it relatively smooth as far as protein powders go. Not quite as smooth as some premium blends out there such as BSN Syntha-6, but definitely not demonstrating any problems in this area, and overall a smooth mix, even when only mixed in milk. In a blender, most all protein powders mix well and this one was no exception.
When I look at a protein powder, I consider a number of factors including nutritional content, taste and cost effectiveness as well as some others. As it is, the EAS 100% Whey Protein tasted good and has a good nutritional content. They claim to be BCAA rich, although I don't see anywhere in the nutritional information where this is shown. There are 23 grams of protein per scoop which is pretty good, although a few protein powders out there have a slightly higher content. The price is not too bad at $23.89 for two pounds and $49.99 for five pounds which is decent given that the market price for whey products has raised as of 2007-2008, but there are a few protein powders out there which are cheaper than this, so the budget friendly supplement consumer will want to look at a few other products and their prices before making a final decision. You can consult the sorted table above which will help you with this. All in all, I would rate the EAS 100% Whey Protein a B, in that it was pretty good, but did not knock my socks off. In the future, should I sample this protein again, I will try it in the chocolate flavour which I imagine would be my favourite flavour of the ones currently available.
