Dymatize Elite Oats 'N More
The product I am reviewing today is called Elite High-Protein Oatmeal by Dymatize Nutrition.
The flavour I sampled was Brown Sugar Cinnamon which is actually sugar free. That being said, this product could use a bit of sugar so that it doesn't taste so bad that I should either take it back to where I got it without feeling sceptical about doing that and / or I could go on to say that I would probably win a case if I sued them for lying for saying "delicious 36 grams of protein".
When you open the packet you will notice there is the regular oatmeal oats you will see with other forms of oatmeal. Another observation is that it rises quickly just like yeast always does. However, there is much more powder in this one than with other forms. One would think that this means the taste is great but don't fool yourself; you probably also won't be able to finish it.
Main ingredients are oats, whey protein isolate, natural flavour, cinnamon, sea salt, sucralose. This product contains traces of milk and soy so if you are allergic or are in contact with someone who is please make sure to be cautious. As for me, I am only allergic to the awful taste of it.
As for supplemental / nutrition facts, comparing Dymatize to Quaker, on approximately a per gram basis, Quaker has double the fibre, more good fats such as Polyunsaturated and / or Monounsaturated fats, but it has double the carbohydrates and six or seven times of the sodium; again on a per gram basis. As for essential vitamins and nutrients, Quaker is spiked with them as having considerably closer to ideal daily values in almost all of them compared to Dymatize, even with its serving size as 47g as compared to 72g. Examples of the vitamins and nutrients are iron, thiamine, vitamin B6, foltate and pantothenate. From this detailed comparison, my advice for anyone would be to eat Quaker oatmeal, ideally for breakfast, before then taking another protein supplement hours later; one that is in my opinion much more eatable and digestible.
Unfortunately, Quaker has 17g of sugar per 47g serving while Dymatize has 0 grams of sugar per 72g serving. Further, Dymatize has a higher rate of protein, being 50% of its makeup, as well as more Polyunsaturated and / or Monounsaturated fats on a per gram basis.
Dymatize's other flavours of its oatmeal are Granola Crunch, Apple Spice, Sunrise Cocoa, and Smooth Banana. Don't forget that if you are not satisfied with these other flavours, that I did not try, I bet you can get a refund from the store, distributor or http://www.bodybuildingpro.com. The distributor / manufacturer of this product is Dymatize Enterprises Inc., Dallas, TX, 75234 USA and you are free to call them at (888) 334-LEAN or (972) 732-1990.
My overall advice would be for you to just get any flavour of Quaker oatmeal. It may have less protein but it is totally natural and tastes way better too. Also you can mix it with either milk or water and not be disappointed either way. I rate this a 5 out of 10.
To try, send Matt an email at Webmaster@BodybuildingPro.com. He will give you a quote as to the price.
