COSTAS FOODS MUSCLE SANDWICH Review By Michael S.
REVIEW OF COSTAS FOODS MUSCLE SANDWICH

Every few months I like to go on an extremely strict diet and keep out the junk food and almost revitalize my body's nutrition. Being deprived from sweets for a long time the first bite you get makes you feel over the moon. The Cinnamon Graham Muscle sandwich by Costas food is currently my favourite protein bar when cutting because of its great taste. "A cinnabutter graham cracker snack with a white chocolaty coating" the description alone makes me salivate at the thought. Of course I was skeptical and before opening the package I was expecting a huge disappointment.
I was wrong though, the bar contains 17 grams of fat due to the fact that it contains 100% real peanut butter so they are good fats, 24 grams of total carbohydrates with 2 grams of fiber and 14 grams of sugar and 13 grams of protein. The bar also contains iron, calcium, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin and folate. I call these the generic vitamins and minerals because almost every protein bar out there adds them.
The bar is very brittle and can fall apart before opening so you do have to treat it with some care but the care pays off. After opening the bar and taking a bite my taste buds were enveloped in a peanut butter (one of my favourite foods) chocolaty swarm of deliciousness. The bars main source of its nutrition is dry roasted peanuts which are cheap, tasty and healthy. The bar also contains cinnamon a great anti-oxidant that tastes great.
The bar unfortunately also contains sugar, high fructose corn syrup, shortening, corn starch, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, rapeseed oil, cottonseed oil and soy bean oil. All these oils account for some of the fat in the bar and are what make it stay moist and fresh. The bar also contains TBHQ, also known as tertiary butylhydroquinone. I am sure a lot of you are wondering what these long names chemical is, so was I. It is a chemical compound is a preservative for unsaturated vegetable oils and animal fats. It keeps to food tasting and looking the same so it is quite appealing to the manufacturer. I am not aware of how much there is in one of these bars but in high doses it can be unhealthy. It is a carniogenic that could cause stomach tumours and damage to DNA. The studies however are still a bit controversial, but if you are truly a healthy addict I would suggest not eating this bar.
I cannot give this bar a bad review, as a quick snack it was well worth some of those ingredients to get a moral boost from such a great tasting bar that you do not feel guilty about eating. I would not recommend one of these every day but every few days they would make a great dessert instead of eating...let's say a slice of store bought cheesecake.
Due to some nasty ingredients I am going to give the bar a 7/10. Even though I know a lot of people who would not eat these and I do not recommend eating these often, they still great and can be a great pick me up while dieting.
