This is Steven Sidorski here to review a couple of products but before I do, let me just take this opportunity to warn you to add two products to your Do-Not-Buy list: Tri-O-Plex Chocolate Chip Cookies and Tri-O-Plex Whole Grain Protein Bar that is flavoured as Smores. I honestly do not know which product is worse overall.
The Tri-O-Plex cookies have real chocolate chips but unfortunately that is the only good tasting part at all and chocolate chips are obviously not nutritious. The rest is this squishy mess concocted together bunch of crap that tastes like raw cookie dough. Maybe if you were a kid you would like this but as an adult your smarter sense of taste is warning you to not eat another bite. That was my exact experience. A two out of five for taste and a two out of five for nutrition makes this product the first one I have put on the "failure list" in quite a while! Another problem I have is that there are too many chocolate chips. Apparently, this is a shady attempt to make this product taste good although this goes against the basic idea of supplements in general which is to improve yourself. I had enough willpower to not finish this horrible product. I faced an additional punishment for consuming this product because its aftertaste led to my stomach aching.
Next on the list of bad products is the Tri-O-Plex Smores bar. Is it just a coincidence that the only two Tri-O-Plex products I have tried both get a failing mark? Probably not as I give this product a three out of ten because it gets an absolute zero for taste. For a bar which weighs 118g you would expect more than 30g of protein but you do not get this either. You also do not get a date provided which specifies when this product expires. For all I know it expired last year and I would not be surprised if it was because that is how bad it is! I suppose I will throw the 90% of the bar which I will not consume into the garbage in hopes that somebody else such as a bum does not find it either! It has 4g of fibre but if you want a better tasting and less expensive source of fibre I suggest you try 13g of fibre per serving of Fibre-One cereal. My favourite is the Honey Clusters!
In closing I would like to refer you to somebody whose name is Chef Jay. Apparently this Chef who is responsible for these crappy cookies and bars tells you on the wrapper that his bars are "delicious". He also mentions that he provided these Las Vegas residents with "healthy snacks". No wonder Las Vegas is known only for gambling as well as making a loser out of many people. If you gamble by trying either of these products, you will go over twenty-one and bust just like many do in the real-life card game! But looking on the bright side, I suppose it is good to try some really crappy products because they make the mediocre brands look and taste that much better! Let me add I have absolutely no idea where my supplier got these bars from!
In summary, I could probably crap a bar which tastes better than the whole grain Tri-O-Plex bar and is more nutritious for you than the crappy, chocolate chip-filled cookies.
