Biochem Sports 100% whey protein is the ideal protein supplement for those watching their cholesterol, fat and carbohydrate intake. As any bodybuilder or enthusiastic athlete knows, protein is an essential part of any diet. I used this specific fast absorption protein immediately after my workouts and occasionally before bed late at night. The late night use is great due to the low amount of carbs and fat-free qualities of this protein you do not have to worry too much about putting on a couple extra secret pounds due to fat, only 100 calories per 30g serving giving you a fantastic 20 grams of pure fast absorbing protein. Unlike most powders it was very light and did not give me any feeling of bloating. Also unlike other protein powders, the ingredient list is exceptionally short which in my mind, is always a relief for those who are real sticklers for high-quality, pure protein. The only thing this protein lacks is artificial flavourings, colors and high amounts of fructose and glucose.
As far as my experience goes with this protein, my first impression was quite sceptical. I did not think that a protein powder could really promise to mix instantaneously in liquid and taste good with no artificial additives (as I have tried the "natural" flavours from other protein brands and been unimpressed) but was proven wrong. I had the chance, no, the privilege of having their all natural chocolate fudge flavoured mix with cocoa powder. Added to a shaker cup with milk it was delicious and smooth and tasted on par with nestle chocolate milk powder. On the other hand, mixing with water was not as enjoyable. Mixed with water, anything below freezing cold was almost intolerable to me.
Besides the water mixture the only other con I have towards this product is the size availability of nothing bigger than 1.8lbs. Starting at only 13.99 you can purchase this product and try it for yourself. It's a great value, coming in at under a dollar a serving. A small price to pay for a protein you may start taking regularly.
To summarize, this is definitely a recommended buy for beginners or people cutting. The product itself is great for being on the go and for watching your weight.
