Chris Cormier & Dexter Jackson
Although I would be the first to say that Chris Cormier has a superior structure than Dexter Jackson, Dexter looks incredible in the most muscular pose, as it highlights the amazing striations and detail of his delts. Chris lacks that level of conditioning that Dexter consistently brings to the table.

Dexter Jackson
This picture is proof positive of Dexter's freaky detail in the most muscular pose. Every single muscle fiber in his shoulders are clearly visible. This level of conditioning is something that some bodybuilders are not even able to achieve - ever. This is a combination of genetics as well as all the other factors related to bodybuilding

Chris Cormier
It has been said that Chris Cormier has never fully reached his potential, save for a few showings including the 1999 Mr. Olympia Contest. However, potential is a blank canvas and really means nothing. In any case, I don't fully agree with the statements regarding Chris, as I think that he usually does come in near his best. It's possible he is even at his best and all the talk about potential is baseless. Not every bodybuilder will be able to come in to bodybuilding contests bone dry and shredded, so it's hard to say if Chris could. Only time will tell. I wish Chris the best for a productive 2006.

Gustavo Badell
I personally think Gustavo Badell looks great in this pose. Gustavo's problem is not a wide waist, but his expanding stomach. Like Ronnie Coleman, his waist is in check, he just needs to focus on keeping his stomach under control during the time of the pose. If he can do this, he should continue to do extremely well in contest.

Lee Priest
For a guy who gets so fat in the offseason, it never ceases to amaze me how good Lee Priest is at dialing it in at the time of the contest. Aside from posessing excellent condition, he also has superb muscle density and is probably the best bodybuilder under the height of 5'5 of all time.

Melvin Anthony
Melvin Anthony appears to have improved his overall muscularity, and has done it all while maintaining an extremely small waist size (reported as either 27" or 28"). For a competitive bodybuilder who sports some good size, that kind of waist size is simply unheard of.

Darrem Charles
This is one of Darrem Charles' signature poses. You can see that Darrem has a relatively small frame (compared to the mass monsters of bodybuilding. In any case, Darrem does well due to his consistent conditioning. He has in the same boat as Shawn Ray and Mr. Consistency Dexter Jackson in terms of coming in to shows in condition.

Victor Martinez
Victor Martinez will be another bodybuilder ALA Chris Cormier who people will constantly talk about in terms of potential - at least based on this past year. He had a great pro year in 2003 when he won the 2003 Night of Champions, and later went on to win the GNC Show of Strength in 2004. It seems he is talked about in the same way Chris is, in that they both are said to have unlimited potential in bodybuilding if they come in truly ON. But that might be a big if, since it is extremely difficult to consistently peak for shows.

Troy Alves
Troy Alves looks great in this picture. Most notably may be his extremely striated chest. He has done the same thing Lee Priest has done this year, and brought up his glutes which had otherwise been a weak point in terms of conditioning (and one which Troy was marked down for in many past shows). Congrats to Troy for a good showing and I wish him well at the 2005 Mr. Olympia.

Mark Dugdale
Mark Dugdale is relatively new on the scene and has so far been doing extremely well - I suspect he will go down in history as one of the better short bodybuilders.

Toney Freeman
Toney Freeman is one of the better bodybuilders over 6'0 - hell, he is one of the few! How many others at that height have made a mark on bodybuilding? Gunter Schlierkamp and Lou Ferrigno come to mind. Toney looks great, and aside from sporting appreciable size, he also has a fairly small waist which makes for an excellent taper.

King Kamali
King Kamali was somewhat of an anomaly at the show. He was in shredded condition, but his waist was wide and his stomach was not great either. It appears that King tore a biceps muscle, but I can't be certain. Personally, I feel King's best performance was at the 2001 Mr. Olympia. Check out THIS PICTURE and THIS PICTURE to see how he looked then. At the relatively young age of 33, King should be able to bounce back (at least I'm hoping he does).
